Please be aware that a fraudulent “phishing scam” e-mail is circulating on the Internet, targeting SBSEFCU members in an attempt to obtain or verify your personal information.
The e-mail appears to come from SBSEFCU, and it states that your account has been locked for security reasons and that in order to restore full access to the account; you must click on the provided link and follow an “unlocking procedure.”
The “unlocking procedure” asks you to update your personal information. In order to make the e-mail look legitimate, the fraudulent e-mail contains a link to another website that appears identical to the SBSEFCU website. While made to look legitimate, this e-mail and the website link are not.
SBSEFCU NEVER solicits you to request your personal account information through e-mails or by telephone. Requests such as these are fraudulent and should be reported immediately.
In the event that you receive such an e-mail “phishing” for your personal information, please do not respond. If you have already responded to this fraudulent e-mail, please contact SBSEFCU immediately at 909-882-2911.

Of course, it is also important to monitor your account statements for suspicious activity and we encourage you to routinely do so.
